Error 56: Bricking Issues in iPad Pro 9.7” Cause Apple to Pulls iOS 9.3.2

If you are lucky enough to own a new iPad Pro (9.7” model only) then beware iOS 9.3.2.

Reports began to surface early last week that the iOS 9.3.2 update was actually bricking some 9.7” models, displaying Error 56, a generic hardware fault code. It is unclear what caused the issues, especially given that it only appears to be affecting a small number of units, but Apple has said it is working on a fix as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, for those already affected by the bug, there are no options other than to take your device in to an Apple store for assistance or replacement. Yay.

As such if you haven’t attempted update yet, wait for a while after they patch 9.3.2 and re-release it just to be sure.

iOS 9.3.2 updates include the restoration of Night Shift in low power mode, a wide array of minor bug fixes and minor improvements to functionality.
