OtterBox: the brand synonymous with top-notch protection and pure drop-kickability.

But not always known for their style.

Happily, this is a trend that OtterBox have been working hard to change for some years now, and the most recent edition of the Strada for Samsung S10 doesn’t disappoint.

Crafted from genuine leather with a polycarbonate shell and polished magnetic latch, the Strada is a beautiful blend of both style and practicality. It has a super slim profile and slips easily in and out of pockets and bags alike. Whether using the phone with the folio open, or closed, the magnetic clip secures the cover in place; and when closed, calls are still clear thanks to the teeny tiny cut-out around the speaker. All ports, the microphone and the camera/flash cluster are protected by the polycarbonate shell with a deeply bevelled edge surrounding the latter so as not to interfere with function. The buttons are easily pressed whether the folio is open OR closed, a neat trick given the volume buttons are covered by both the polycarbonate AND the leather cover when shut. We really like that kind of attention to detail.

The inside of the front cover also has a slot available for either a single card or very small amount of cash. Whilst the case is still perfectly functional with either of these items in place, the fit could be a little better. A credit card only just fits neatly, and notes must be folded twice to fit, decreasing the number of bills you can take with you. With this being said, it’s still a super handy feature for when you want to travel extra light, we just wouldn’t recommend it as a full-time replacement for a wallet.

Of course, being made by OtterBox, the Strada comes with the OtterBox Certified Drop Protection and 12-month warranty. Available in either Shadow (black) or Espresso (brown) the colour options are a little limited, but we think the luxurious leather makes up for that.

All in all, the Strada is a great case for those who need high end protection but don’t want the bulk of a full-blown tradie case. Top marks again, OtterBox!
